Mission & Purpose

“Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”” (Matthew 9:35-38)

Mission

“Know Jesus and Make Him Known.”

Purpose/Vision

God has given in our leadership a vision that gives greater clarity to the purpose of our church. We want to use our TIME well. We believe TIME is a matter of priority and passion.

T-Transformation: We believe the Word of God is the source for us to receive God’s truth and the Holy Spirit uses his Word to change our lives so that we grow in Christ.

The word transformation is used several times in the New Testament, with one of the strongest references in Romans 12:2, Transformed by the renewing of your mind. We believe the Word of God is the source for us to receive God’s truth and the Holy Spirit uses his Word to change our lives so that we grow in Christ. The New Testament word comes from our English word metamorphous, which is applied to a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. God’s goal for your life is to be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:29) This is our primary goal and everything else that we do will support this focus of becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

I-Interconnection: It is our goal that everyone that calls New Harvest their church home will have an intentional connection with others as we seek God together.

The Bible emphasizes the importance of relationships. Building intentional relationships is the next step in growing as a Christian. John 13:34 & 35 tells us about a new commandment that Jesus gives us to love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another. It is our goal that everyone that calls New Harvest their church home will have an intentional connection with others as we seek God together.

M-Ministry: We will be a serving church by ministering to others in the ways that God has gifted us.

Proceeding from this growing relationship with Christ and meaningful relationships is the desire to serve God by using your gifts to help others. In Romans 12:6 it says that we have different gifts according to the grace given us. It lists seven kind of giftings, which is just one of the times in the scriptures that it reminds us that God has given us gifts by his Holy Spirit. In I Peter 4:10 the Bible says, Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. We will be a serving church by ministering to others in the ways that God has gifted us. The sign of growth and maturity in our church body will be the reflection of a ministry heart that serves others.

E-Evangelism: The fruit of our ministry will result in bringing people into the family as they trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior.

The sense of culmination in this last part of our vision is the winning of people to saving faith in Jesus Christ. Our role is to witness through our lives the good news of Jesus Christ to a world in need. Acts 1:8 says, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses . . . ” The fruit of our ministry will result in bringing people into the family as they trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior. We will rejoice in those that say yes that open their heart to Christ and will appreciate them by sharing a rose and presenting them with a Bible, blessing their personal faith in Jesus Christ and pointing them to growth and maturity within the New Harvest church body.

Through TIME we believe we will fulfill God’s purpose as his church.

If you possess these qualities in increasing measure they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. That quote comes from II Peter 1:8 and it applies to our heartbeat as New Harvest Church. You are invited to use your time well for God by helping us fulfill our purpose as a church.
