My previous blog highlights the word “better.” That describes 2015 at New Harvest so well. God made last year better. He gets the credit for sure! But this year’s word is different in several ways. Primarily “stronger” is connected to my effort. If I say I want to be stronger by December 31st, I will need to do something about that. If I never lift any weights or exercise my muscles in one way or another, I guarantee that I won’t be stronger. Better is what God has done, stronger is doing my part. Stronger is our word for 2016.

This is my dilemma: how much and how often do I push you to do your part? And will my pushing ultimately help or hinder? I am committed to praying for you with these words: “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being…” (Ephesians 3:16f) The Apostle Paul’s prayer has always been a favorite of mine helping me to pray for you in the most effective way. But I know that the answer to this prayer is accomplished as you lift some spiritual weights. I will continue praying this prayer believing that the answer is a passionate believer seeking God.
